WA DOES IT AGAIN!!

With the conclusion of the Australian Championships Western Australia was named Champion Darts State.

Amassing a total of 330 points. This is the seventh occasion that Western Australia has won this honor, the last time being in 2006. Queensland was second and Victoria third.

 

Final Points:

1st WA - 330

2nd QLD - 294

3rd VIC - 186

4th NSW - 132

5th SA - 124

6th TAS - 110

7th NT - 60

8th ACT 42

 

The Men threw 294 x 180's during the week while the Ladies 38. Topping the list was Tony David with 19 and Kyle Anderson with 18 and for the Ladies was Sue Tuhi with 5. Sue Tuhi threw a 170 pegout.

 

2007 AUSTRALIAN TEAMS....

The Chairman of Selectors Terry Taylor named the Australian Team to play World Cup XVI in the Netherlands in October.

The 2007 Australian Gran Masters was played in Canberra on Sunday 1st July. Simon Whitlock continued his run of recent successes when he defeated Tony David (left) to take the title. Lavinia Hogg took the Womens event with a win over Louise Ball

First Female in 35 Years To Hit the Perfect Peg........

Janine Pink (left) holds her "170" badge. Jannine got the perfect peg playing for the South Suburban Ladies in Division 2 at the recent Ladies Metro Championships. Janine became the first female in 35 years of the  Ladies Inter-Association darts in Western Australia to achieve a 170 peg-out.  Well done Janine!

 

2006 Winmau World Masters......

At 17 years old Michael van Gerwen became the youngest winner of a major darts event when he beat England captain Martin Adams at the Winmau World Masters in Bridlington.  In an amazing turn around the 17-year-old from the Netherlands trailed 5-2 before reeling off five straight sets for a 7-5 win.

Australian Grand Masters......

Simon Whitlock takes out the Australian Masters which was held on Sunday 2nd July 2006, beating Western Australia's Joe Comito 5 sets to 2. In the Women's event Western Australia's Natalie Carter beat New Zealand's Jannette Jonathon 4 sets to 1

Two "170" Pegouts In One Day !!......

Two 170 Pegouts were thrown at the 2006 WADC Men's State Teams Championships

Ron Fenton (Fremantle) & recently from Queensland threw the first one and then later Wayne Battersby (Rockingham) threw his.

 

WesternAustralian John Rodd hits his 2nd "Nine Darter"......

JOHN RODD

John, playing for Coolbellup, threw a 9 darter on Wednesday 27th April 2005 against Hamilton Hill.

This was John's Second 9 darter

John's throw was:-  180, 180, 141 pegout. His 141 peg was - 60, 45, 36

Betty Hislop - DFA Life Membership......

The Darts Federation of Australia payed homage to Betty Hislop by awarding her with DFA Life Membership at the 2004 Annual General Meeting in Canberra. Her nomination came from the WADC who recognised her contribution at all levels over a long period of time
